Note
|
From his son, Joe DiJulio: Joe said the family was from Chieti in Abruzzi, Italy. Elia went to school to learn tailoring. His older brother, Alphonso was already a tailor. Name was originally spelled DiIiulio. Changed to DiJulio because it was easier in English. Elia had a tailor business on Lansdowne Ave in and another store in Trenton that his brother (Alphonso?) ran. The businesses were successful until after WWII when they went downhill as pre-made clothes became popular in chain stores. |
