dob & dod from obituary
Mary Lucy Tesauro Lucchesi, 92, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Palm Meadows Village on Hilton Head Island, SC after a brief illness. Mary was born December 13, 1918 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Peter and Antonette LaBosco Tesauro. Mary married Joseph Louis Lucchesi on October 6, 1946. They lived in Plainfield, NJ until her husband's career settled them in Sudbury, Massachusetts in 1966 where they belonged to Marlboro Country Club. In 1978, Mary and Joe retired to Sea Pines on Hilton Head Island where their son already resided. Mary's love for golf continued to grow after moving to the Island, and for the next 20 plus years, she found a new women's group to play with as a member of the South Carolina Yacht Club. Mary also belonged to numerous bridge groups throughout her retirement years. Her love of life was shown through her passion for cooking and baking for family, friends, neighbors, weddings, birthdays and simply for fun. She didn't imagine that in her retirement she would be sharing so many of her Italian specialties and desserts, but her greatest joy other than attending her grandson's sporting events, was cooking. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Louis Lucchesi, her father, brothers, Peter and Ralph and her mother, whom she cared for until she was 104 years old. She is survived by her sister, Rose Eastlund of Middlesex, NJ; son, Joseph, his wife Dana and grandson Nicholas of Hilton Head Island, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her Life and a Gathering of Friends will be held at 23 Sparwheel Lane in Windmill Harbour on Friday, December 2nd from 4:00-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewater Hospice Foundation at tidewaterhospice. com. The Island Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
